British playwright Shelagh Delaney (also the cover star of “Girlfriend’s in a Coma” single)

Delaney left school at 16, and was the catalyst for the homework-burning heroine of The Smiths’ “Sheila Take a Bow” (which altered the Irish spelling of her name). 



Inspiring one of the The Smith’s best songs and 50% of all of Morrissey’s writing is something we can only dream of.  Shelagh, take a bow.
